Uptime Dog vs Better Stack

A simpler Better Stack alternative

Better Stack bundles uptime monitoring, incident management, status pages and log management into one platform. Uptime Dog covers the same ground at a smaller scale, with flat plans. Here's how to decide.

Based on public information as of October 2026. Check Better Stack's own site for current plans and prices. Better Stack is a trademark of its owner; Uptime Dog isn't affiliated with it.

The main differences

How the bill is worked out

Uptime Dog has four plans with fixed prices in pounds, and each includes seats, SMS and call credits, status pages and log volume. You can see exactly what next month costs. Platforms that charge per responder, per status page or by usage give more room to grow but take more working out.

Depth against breadth

Better Stack's logging and observability go much further than ours: Uptime Dog's logs are for searching what happened around an incident, and are kept for Free 1 day, Essentials 7 days, Pro 14 days and Business 30 days. If logs and dashboards are central to how you work, that matters.

Size of team

Uptime Dog is built for small and medium teams who want one tool that does the essentials well. Our largest plan has 25 seats and 1,000 monitors.

Recreate monitors with the REST API, add your alert channels and on-call schedules, and send logs to the ingest endpoint (JSON, NDJSON or plain lines all work). Move the status page domain last, once the new page shows what you expect.
