Uptime Dog features
Uptime monitoring, status pages, incidents and on-call in one place, with logs, browser checks and an AI assistant alongside. Here is what each part does and how it fits together.
Monitoring
Every monitor runs on its own schedule, from every 5 minutes on the Free plan down to every 20 seconds on Business. A failed check isn't trusted straight away: it's checked again, from other locations where they're set up and otherwise by a retry, and only a confirmed failure opens an incident. That keeps a single dropped packet from waking anyone up.
- Websites and APIs: HTTP and HTTPS with any method, headers, body and basic auth, the status codes you expect, and redirects followed or not.
- Keywords: alert when a word goes missing from a page, or when an error message appears.
- SSL certificates: expiry warnings and chain checks.
- Heartbeats: cron jobs and workers check in, and you hear when they don't.
- Browser checks: a real headless Chromium walks through sign-in, search or checkout.
- TCP, ping and DNS: ports, hosts and records with the values you expect.
- Servers: a small shell agent reports CPU, memory, disk and load every minute, with thresholds.
Incidents and status
Incidents open and resolve on their own, with the cause, how long they lasted and every alert that was sent. You can open incidents by hand too, post public or internal updates and link affected services. Status pages show it all to your customers, on our address or your own domain, with subscribers, history and feeds. Scheduled maintenance silences monitors and appears on the page ahead of time.
Alerts and on-call
Alerts go to email, SMS, phone calls, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Google Chat, Telegram, signed webhooks, PagerDuty and Opsgenie: see integrations. On-call schedules and escalation policies make sure someone owns each incident, and every alert carries a one-click acknowledge link.
Logs and the AI assistant
Log monitoring takes logs over HTTP and searches them with full-text search, including the logs around any incident. The AI assistant answers questions about your monitoring using your own provider key, and can take a first look at new incidents.
Reports, teams and the API
Reports show uptime, downtime, incident count, mean time to recover and acknowledge, the longest incident and average response time for any period, with CSV export. Teams have owners, admins and members, with email invites. Everything in the app is also available over a REST API with team API keys, so monitors can be created from your deploy scripts and incidents from your own tools.
Plans
The Free plan includes 20 monitors, a status page and every alert channel apart from SMS and calls. Paid plans start at Essentials and add faster checks, custom domains, on-call, browser checks and more. Compare them on the pricing table.
