Terms of service

Last updated 18 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Making Stuffs Ltd ("we", "us") when you use Uptime Dog. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

The service

Uptime Dog checks websites, APIs, certificates, hosts, scheduled jobs and servers you tell it about, alerts you when they fail, and hosts status pages, incidents and on-call schedules for your team.

Your account and team

  • Use an email address that's yours and that works. We send sign-in codes, password resets and alerts to it.
  • Keep your password and API keys safe. You're responsible for what's done with them.
  • Team owners and admins control who is in a team and what it can do. Anyone you invite can see the team's monitors and settings.

Acceptable use

Monitor only services you own or have permission to monitor. You must not:

  • use checks to overload, attack or probe systems, or to test for weaknesses;
  • use status pages or alerts to send spam, or to publish unlawful or misleading content;
  • add people as status page subscribers without their permission;
  • try to get around plan limits or access other teams' data.

If you break these rules, we may pause your monitors, or suspend or close your account. Where we can, we'll tell you why first.

Plans and limits

Each plan has limits, such as the number of monitors, how often they're checked, status pages, seats and SMS credits. They're listed in the pricing section. We may change plans and limits, and we'll tell you before a change that affects a plan you've paid for.

Payments

Paid plans are sold through Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record and handles payment, tax and invoices. Paid plans renew automatically each month or year until you cancel.

Cancelling

You can cancel any time from the billing page, and you keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for; then your team moves to the Free plan. Our refund policy explains when you can get your money back.

Your data

Your monitors, incidents, status pages and settings are yours. You can export reports, use the API, and delete monitors, teams or your whole account at any time. Our privacy policy explains what we store and why.

Availability and liability

We work hard to keep Uptime Dog running and accurate, but no monitoring service can promise to catch every failure or deliver every alert: networks, third-party services and phone networks fail too. The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, lost profits or losses caused by alerts that weren't sent or arrived late, and our total liability is limited to what you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll email you before it takes effect. Using the service after that means you accept the new terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction.
